Haha not yet, waiting for mrs approval.
Also, still deciding between Sedona 4000 or Elite Max 40. Both are $99 at the moment.
Watched YouTube videos and there's a review on Daiwa Legalis LT CH, only then I realised that there are many high gear models that don't come in to Aus.
For example, I saw in Digitaka, they have Legalis, exceler, etc in high gear.

What is this word approval you speak of

Re: Budget high speed spin reel ($80 - $120) for casting metal?
So I've narrowed it down to either:
Abu Garcia elite max 40 at $99 currently on sale at Anaconda or Dinga, or
Legalis LT 4000 XH from Japan at $120
From past experience with Abu Garcia MGX anti reverse issue, I am leaning towards Legalis 6BB and weigh 245gm.
Should I fill it with 20lb braid? Or 15lb braid?

Was going to get Legalis LT high gear from Japan but apparently it's spring holiday there at the moment and they won't process or deliver for another two weeks. So I'm gonna get Abu Garcia elite max 40 tomorrow.
I have 20lb jbraid x4 at home from my old reel. I remember it wasn't that good. What do you think of jbraid x4? Will it be good enough for casting metal? It's not as smooth or round as x8.
Or should I spend $40-$60 to get a good braid?

It's only salmon fishing and 30 40 or 50 g metals give it a go can't hurt long as you can get 80 to 110 yards not a problem that and sometimes they are right at Your Feet within 20 to 30 yards

Yeah true. Thanks, I'll try with the jbraid x4 and see if it can cast that far without issues.Tackleberry wrote: ↑Fri Apr 30, 2021 9:40 pmIt's only salmon fishing and 30 40 or 50 g metals give it a go can't hurt long as you can get 80 to 110 yards not a problem that and sometimes they are right at Your Feet within 20 to 30 yards

Bought the Abu Garcia elite max 40 from Anaconda at $99
And double clutch 60 for $5!!
Saw it in the clearance box and only one. I even checked with the guy if it's correct (thought someone threw it in there), but the guy scanned it and legit $5!
