How would this outfit go for Vic/NSW shelf fishing? A fair bit undersized for marlin, swords and barrels?

the lack of line capacity for swords would struggle too?

Carl uses the Talica's and rates them extremely well. I haven't used that model demonblood but they have a good rep.

And it’d be an okay all rounder for them game species as well as northern species like wahoo, sails, doggys and Spaniards?

I've not fished for those species with an overhead but the feedback i'm getting is yes, assuming you're fishing from a boat and spooling with braid.

We use talica 25's for our big trolling outfits.
Back when we could travel to fish, we've had several Striped Marlin, and Bluefin to 115kg, knocked them over no stress.
For swording, I'd be stepping up to Talica 50, (we use tiagra 50's, which carry about 1000mtrs of braid/mono combined.

14000 Stella, 100lbs braid + murasame caranx 7’8 pe6-10 (heavy casting)
Talica 12 2speed, 34kg braid and terez 6’6 40-80 (medium - heavy trolling / jigging)
10000 saragossa, 50lbs braid + saltist hyper 72mh pe3/5 (medium casting)
10000 saragossa, 50lbs braid + terez 7’2 15-30 (medium bait)
And may take one more light bait rod. Prods only a crucis hoodlem with 6000 saragossa or something similar

What I need is recommendations of budget versions of the above outfits for my old man. He doesn’t want to spend the same type of money as me so I need to find him some cheaper alternatives that’ll do the job for him.

The older model daiwa BG reels and shimano maikuro rods will be a cheap but still good combos.
I would have gone to the tackle world sale and seen what rods they had in the clearance, they were all 45 odd bucks, all graphite models.

I did mate lol, I bought like $1400 worth of lures, as well the caranx and Stella. I was like a kid in a lollie shop in there.

I’d have got more but I’m already stretching the boundaries on the marriage haha
