WOOHOO look what I found
Well I was going through some boxes and found this jem (sustain 8000FE) and the best part is its as new and back then they were like the stradics they came with a spare spool .
I forgot all about it as I have had to move 2 times in the last 3 years after being in the same home for 20 years I didn't have the room or want to unpack until I found a permanent house .
I still have about 15 boxes to look through.

Yes I like these and the stradic FI of the same era my son and my self are still using 5 of them we bought in 2010 and still running fine after having a flogging on bream and flathead for 13 years I still can't get over them dropping the Spare spool .

My boat was off the water for a few years, now its up and going, and we have moved interstate, I finally got everything unpacked and Walla !!
Found 2 FJ 5000 Stradics ( white ones ) and a 1000 Saragosa and a 14000 Saragosa. all of them would have had less that a half a season then put away..
Seriously forgot they even existed, it's like an early Xmas ...
I must have cleaned them up properly at the time, slackened the drag, I don't recon the 14000 Saragosa saw water in all honesty.
Would have been bought 2012-2013 ish... I'm happy

Yep I have those saragosa reels as well i have a mate with the new ones and the older ones are just as good AFAIC.
I actually prefer the stradic FI to my FK

The majority of the rest of my gear, are tricked up old Penn Senators, with a sprinkling of a few modern set ups, but yep, " old fart" here too...
I'll always have my 2 internationals on hand when trolling for the big fella's, but there's always a couple of the old tricked up Senators out in the mix as well.
Haven't had a chance to use the 2 old Saragoses yet, I'll re spool them and they'll be getting a hammering first, either jigging or casting slugs when out wide..
