Daiwa Vs Shimano Again...
So looks like shimano is releasing a Jbraid competitor. has anyone used this stuff before.
considering Daiwa will be releasing a 4 cheaper 4 strand J barid this will be a direct competitor id say
shimano braid isnt released yet, so its unavailable atm. but pricing is available and its similarly priced to J braid and also sunline Super Pe.

I love the J Braid X 8 and rate it highly for the price. Shimano already has an 8 ply braid they call Ocea and it's really pricey but also great to use and incredibly thin for the breaking strain. I'd have to rate it higher than the J Braid. It will be interesting to see how this new stuff compares.

Daiwa make some of the best braid out there, even 12 ply braid, but they are very very expensive.Shimano already has an 8 ply braid they call Ocea and it's really pricey but also great to use and incredibly thin for the breaking strain.
these 2 braids are both brands cheapest available options atm, hence why i posted it up.
will def be interesting to see how they both compare.
i believe powerpro is owned by shimano, but this is the cheapest one carrying the shimano name tag afaik.
Here are some of the more expensive braids daiwa sell. theres quite a lot more but we never got them here.

A buddy of mine had issues with the old light SAS stuff. I haven't used the new tasline in less than 12lb. the 12, 20, 30 and 40 is in my opinion the best balance of strength, resilience and diametre. The 20 i'm casting at the moment is freaking stunning.

Re: Daiwa Vs Shimano Again...
the tasline in the lighter strains was a different product. from what i understand, it's still being sold as SAS braid but is no longer tasline. Tasline are producing their own braid in the lighter breaking strains now
