Interesting. But i think fish see/have diff colour spectrum to us humans. Then there's cephalopod and mammals (dolphin, seal, etc). Why do they get caught (or not). The seals can see the hook and line? Squids and octopus suppose to have good eyesight yet they're caught every now and then.

Who cares what color the mainline is? It's the leader that would matter more, surely?

Yup... Hence the long fluorocarbon leader (and often thinner) for fussy fish like breams.
But who knows.
