Hello,
Looking to re-spool my light soft plastics rod which i use to target anything from trout in streams to flatties, bream and pinkies in the bay landbased.
Currently have a Shimano Maikuro paired with a Shimano Nasci 2500 reel.
I've narrowed my choices down to 10lb Shimano or Diawa braid but have been reading mixed reviews for both. So does anyone on here have any recommendations or can vouch for either of these brands.
Thanks in advance!

I have no opinion on either brand, but I will never use anything other than 12lb Tasline ever again.

Re: Shimano Kairiki 8 vs Daiwa J-Braid Grand 8
I had a few problems with shimano kiriki in 6lb swappe over to Jbraid in 6lb and didn't have any issues whatsoever. Havent tried Jbraid Grande yet but I'm told it's better.
As Doug has said Tasline is very nice but not available in every size, the 12lb will be similar in diameter to the 10lb you are looking at

I heard some not so good reviews about kairiki but always heard good stuff about jbraidx8. Like Maz said, they said the grand is better but I never used. Been using Siglon Sunline or jbraidx8.

Can’t comment on the kairiki as I haven’t used it before, but I have the J braid x8 on a few of my reels and really like it
