Mepps Aglia & Black Fury lures are my favorites (as if you guys wouldn't know :-D ) this season will be my 55th year of using them, each season 90-95% of the trout I catch are taken on them..
Impressive!!!!

The new 'XD' spinners....try them without a plastic keel. They are identical to Panther Martin spinners I tried prior to my stream fishing coming to an end. The shaft goes through the blade. I had an idea when using the 'panthers' that this design lessened line twist. Didn't get to test out the theory properly. I also think the blade will spin at slower speeds than the normal spinner design. They catch fish!

As for my all time favorite trout lure...the discontinued Jensen Insect.

Thanks Jim, yes the blade does rotate a little slower from what I was told.. the Mepps XD lures have been around for a very long time it's just that I've never bothered to try them until I decided to get a few from Mepps & give them a go for them.. Yes I'll give them a go without the anti-kink too Jim..

here's a little something of interest I came across several years ago..

You should have tried them out before!!! I think the blade design may also make them a bit more snag resistant as well.
