It's not impossible to catch them day time but you need to fish sunset for the best chance of catching the bigger species landbased.

The EPA issued a warning about a dye spilling into stony creek last week which may have an affect on aquatic life so be careful if your going to eat anything from there at the moment dye to pollution.

Newport tackle is still operating, it's a gem of a little place! It's been my local tackle store (more for bait than anything) for over a decade. I particularly like to buy my scrubbies and yabbies from there for my fresh water trips, the quality is second to none.

If his fishing the warmies end of the Yarra it wont affect the fish quality. Way too far from stoney creek particularly with the fresh water running in from the bay.
