Thats an old one, I have seen snapper caught just where there is white water on the moorings side, when the weather is rough.

Your right, about 6yrs old that clip. Ive also seen plenty caught off the pier in strong N and W winds. Seen a guy land a 4kg+ fish on an overhead which he lowered straight down(presumbably cos he wasnt comfortable in casting it) next to pylons on lee side of pier.

Considering now that a large part of the pier is not accessible anymore, and that segment was filmed right at the end of the pier that is no longer accessible.

I don't think ballooning is a popular technique. The only time I have seen it used is when I try to do it on occasions. Nearly caught a catamaran one day. :Dribble:
