Are snapper still around.

Going out on a boat tomorrow off mornington just wondering where If any still around.

Yeh they are but few and far between.

Just gotta find a school of them which could be difficult. More likely to find smaller pinkies.

Snapper are about all year , but they do slow / shut down during the cooler months .

yeah they are around some lucky bugger right next to me caught one lol landbase :) goodluck!

you always have a chance to catch few of them anytime around the year, but during the colder months the number of snappers that remain around VIC is much much less compared to the hotter months, during the colder months they move to further up to a bit wormer areas, or just remains around and slowing down.
from a boat people always use a fish finder around the areas that are populer for snappers, but be also prepared to cach some other spieces on the same rig you use for snapper. Good luck Toastie

Cheers guys wasn't lucky enough to get one. But when we were filleting the fish at mornington boat ramp I guy was cleaning a 5kg snapper.
