Doing better than me. Headed out yesterday for another donut on the reds... plastics and bait.
Got a couple at P2 on Sunday around 8.30am..everyone I spoke to back at the ramp said the fish were going nuts for a couple of hours around dawn and then shut off.
Good to see reports like this as it seems to been a pretty average season this year....water is still cold and its only a couple of weeks until Christmas!

Master red catcher.
I like the last photo, looks almost like the red is floating in the air by itself.
Hahah I wouldn't go as far as saying master redcatcher, let's reserve that for the people who actually know what they are doing as far as reds are concerned.
I just happened to find them roughly where I had a feeling they would be and went along with the plan of fishing for them a certain way which paid off nicely!!
I do rely on my boat electronics quite a lot which has definitely paid off for me quite a few times now.

Because we were fishing lures we were constantly moving /drifting. we found many patches of feeding fish through the morning and afternoon.
I didnt stop and fish unless I seen what I wanted on the sounder.
I hope the water stays as is atm. Once it warms up a bit more I think its shut down time . I could be wrong on this theory of mine though.
Cheers

I was at one stage. But didnt find enough to keep me there for long.
Fish have been coming from all over down there from mt Martha all the way to frankston.
I never fish unless I see something I like on the sounder.
I keep going from mark to mark until find what I'm after.
That's the good thing about lures, moving is a lot easier and is part of why I've done it.

Team born2fish have been getting quite a few good fish in 10-12m altona, thats a lot closer to you as well.
And ricketts point is always worth a shot too.

Ahaha man. I was running 14lb last few sessions with the commander armouraider and caldia 2500.

I decided to downsize everything and ended up with a great session. Im not sure if the downsizing of leaders made the difference tbh..

I only lost one big fish due to the knot breaking on the eyelet of the jighead.

I don't think it matters in most situations, I fish 20lb in open water of 40-60lb in structure, and its brutal and fun. big fish on 60lb lock up can hurt ya haha.
