Are you Up for a Quickie!!!

Post by purple5ive » Sat Dec 21, 2019 8:40 pm

Had my cousin come and visit from Sydney over the weekend.
he wanted to go for a quick fish while he was down and i could see a nice window of opportunity weather wise .
i had to be at my work break up at Mid day, so we hit the water at 6AM for a quick crack at the Reds on Lures.
The good thing about this sorta fishing is quite literally everything about it is quick...
throw 2 rods in the car, hook the boat up and leave.

i went down to the areas i had some luck last time and we had a good session, my cousin hooks up first cast to a just legal, i then follow up with a nice pan sized fish,

i was unhooking a fish for him and lent him the weapon of mass destruction aka black label/luvias combo, no sooner had he casted he was onto a good pan sized fish which gave him a good run for his money..

soon after that i had a blistering run that resulted in this guy.. didnt measure or weigh cause cbfd anymore.. id say a good 2.5 kg plus fish going of previous models.

finished up the session at 10.30AM and after a quick shower hit the road and chillaxed at the work breakup!!!

We released about 5 pan sized fish and kept the big boy for a feed.

I take this opportunity to wish FV members a Merry Christmas and a Happy new year, Tight lines to all and fingers crossed that the new year brings you that dream fish / fishing trip.

Nice boat, that's what you call a fishing boat when the steering wheel is in the middle and you can walk all around the whole boat. What do you use to tow it Purple.

It's been designed with that in mind exactly, it's a dedicated lure fishing boat. I've lost track of how many times fish have walked me around the boat and it's a breeze to manage them in a setup like this.
Ideally a tiller steer would give me more room. But I wanted a centre console to stay dry and have a better view of where I'm going.

Heres the build thread if your interested to see more.

It's a 4.2m so can be towed with most 4 cylinder vehicles I use a subaru liberty to tow . Trailer is unbraked and the whole rig weighs 700kg on the dot.
