first trip this season

Hey all
decided to get out for our first trip for snapper in 2021. a little later than what we'd usually start trying for them but the squid fishing was going extremely well so we postponed it a couple weeks. anyway, launched out at altona and headed across to black rock getting there sound 3:30. had a sound around the 6-7 meter mark for 20 mins and found some activity and dropped the pick. straight away hampered by small pinkies. managed 2 keepers around 30-35cm in 20 mins then pulled up anchor and tried to find some better fish. marked up some really solid marks on the 9 meter line this time so dropped the pick again. got hampered again by pinkies with a few other keepers then finally hooked up to a better fish around 2.5kilos. then started getting a lot of salmon around 45cm as by catch, then the wind picked up and we were on our way back to the ramp at 6:30. not bad first trip but went through a lot of bait. pilchards got the bigger fish. cheers
