Loch Sport.

Post by Al03 » Fri Jun 12, 2020 10:42 am

Have a week booked at Golden Beach in Gippsland in a few weeks. Can't wait!
I do this trip annually and the prime focus is of the beach for Salmon.
Am toying with dragging my 4.2 Metre tinny down as well this time to fish Victoria Lake at Loch Sport.
Not familiar with the Gippsland Lakes at all.
Is it worth dragging the tinny down to fish this lake?
Regards Al.

Your best bet will be fishing McLennan Straights, ten minutes closer than Loch Sport if coming from Golden Beach and a renowned winter bream fishery. Most people access the Straights further east on the northern side from Hollands Landing - this article summarises the area better than I can. http://www.fishingmonthly.com.au/Articl ... ds-Landing. Can't reiterate needing a sounder enough to find the schools that hug the deep drop offs.

Google search Holland's Landing and bream and you will be overwelmed with info. Dont forget the tropical strength mozzie repellant if the weather is still mild like we have at the moment.

You don't need to drive to Holland's landing just launch from Seacombe it's only 15-20 mins away from golden beach

Lol meant to say seacombe landing hence the comment 10 minutes before Loch Sport when coming from Golden Beach.
