It was a slow start today gav had to go back to Melbourne he didn't have enough leave to stay the 3 extra days, we dropped him off at Merimbula airport and he caught a Rex flight home a 1 hour drive and 1hour ten minute flight, if they could only transport the boat I would come more often.
We launched around 830 and headed to the bait hole just north of the twelve mile where we had success yesterday. The bait was down deep 40 to 50 fathoms we jigged up some slimies and put them out as livies within 20 minutes the rigger pops but no howl of the tiagra thinking it was just the rubber band popping I went to put it back and the line starts to move we feed it out then up the drag and start to wind we are on. It starts to jump the guys are clearing the deck then a few choice words the hook pulled. No time to whine just get more baits out.
An hour later the deep bait takes off but the same thing happens we are having a bad trot. The bait stayed deep and was getting scarce we change over to skip baits but no luck we decide on an early night and have a big last day tomorrow. I have put a photo in of a 10/o eagle claw circle hook which is a little worse for wear.

We were planning to head your way next Thursday until Sunday (VIC labor day long weekend) but the forecast is showing very strong winds. :down:
