I am looking for anyone who has had experience with different outrigger bases. This year at bermie it was evident that as I get older I need to change my outrigger bases.
The ones fitted to my boat are the splined plug in type you have to lift and turn it change the angle. My poles are carbon fibre very light but when it’s a bit choppy it gets a bit iffy holding the pole by the base lifting whilst you are stretching around the rocket launcher.
My mate has fitted reelax reef 450 bases which look good I have been looking also at the viper pro gunnel mount which plug in and can be removed when not needed.
Keen to hear other people’s opinions no rush who knows when they will be needed.i have posted a few pictures so you can see the difference.

I was sitting watching Netflix late at night and on eBay I was multi tasking. Looking at outrigger bases and I saw a deal with 2 hours to go bid at $1100 bases 4.5 mt 3 piece poles and full rigging kit so I bid that price and won which I found out the next morning . Unfortunately the guy had nil stock and with covid restrictions bell marine is closed for six weeks. The seller contacted me to let me know . A few days later he had managed to get some and they arrived today

I will have to install them now next time I am stood down. Then sell my outrigger.
