I just got a text from my mate he is over the moon he has just caught a grander marlin near cairns , I will post a photo soon charging my phone.
It's been a target for him for a while I am really happy for him, he was on the gameboat the Iceman

Now that's special!! Cool pic, all lit up like that. First time I've even heard a mention of a grander on this forum.
Was it caught on his boat, or was it a charter setup with a mother boat etc? C&R, or one for the wall? Would need a bloody big wall, even for a shoulder mount.

It's his uncle's boat he used to have a 36ft based at bermie but bought the Iceman a 52 footer. I have only had a couple of texts from him I am tipping he may be having a few drinks.

I was a bit confused by 1000lb because of the perspective of the pic, until I clicked on it and realised the size of the boat (and him) in comparison! fwuarrrr... awesome fish!!

Haha, that's awesome, just a 52 footer. Yeh I reckon he's got a bit of celebrating to do.
