When i went, we did well just jigging salmon metals , 30gm
There is always more to learn , fish to catch , places to see and friends to make.

least you didn't return it to the water, i seen a lot of people doing that lately.

i am yet to catch a redfin, and when i do i will most certainly be cooking it as i have heard they taste great.

Alan is actually a nice guy, met him in person couple times.
Fyi, it is illegal to put carp back into the water, especially alive. You gotta kill and dispose it properly.
But with redfin, although also a pest, it is not illegal to put it back to the water alive (same water location). Unless the rules changed recently.
