Re: Yarra river eltham - warrandyte
nice looking fish there especially the cod.
I have been twice over the weekend and only getting bites off scrubbies but no hook ups.
I am determined to get something here and will keep trying and keep trekking

A couple of good fish there - I have found further up river (Wonga Park to Yarra Glen) very quiet of late.
Been working very hard for even a bite and hooks ups are few and far between.
Keep waiting for the day the cod's range spreads a little further up stream from Warrandyte - has to happen one day

Hey Big Gav when you go to Sweeneys lane are you fishing from the yarra trail side?
and do you think near the creek entrance is a good spot?

Cast into where the creek runs into the deep pool. Alot of yabbis and freshwater shrimp around there too, so alot of small bites that fustrate the hell out of ya.

Caught a fair few on scrubworms and shrimp around eltham, never even had a good hit on cheese. as other people have said the more walking you do the more fish there are.
I've been trying to crack the lure code (never caught a cod on lure) however i'm struggling to find some longer sections of bank with river access, anyone got any ideas? I've been doing heap of walking for very little casting.
