Plenty of the mud suckers still in Malmsbury and Lauriston Reservoirs. Summer is the better time of year. Traditional course fishing techniques would work a treat, burleying with pollard type mixes and using maggots or worm pieces as bait. You’ll sometimes see fly fishos getting amongst them around the small bays. If you’re lucky enough, you may encounter big browns smashing through the schools - often referred to as “roaching”. This will all change over coming years as VFA are now flooding the place with natives which will certainly put pressure on them and thin out the numbers.
