Eildon Pondage
Hi Guys, planning an exploratory trip to Eildon Pondage on the weekend, drown a worm or 2 and flick a few lures around. I have never actually been there and was hoping you guys could recommend spots which may be worth a try?
As a bit of a novice any info greatly appreciated
Thanks Charlie

You can catch fish anywhere there's access, mostly friendly access. Riverside Dr is one of the popular spot, I the old river bed is deep and within casting distance.
Try powerbait too. Tassie devil and spoon usually work there.
Visit the Eildon bait and tackle shop, grab some bait and they usually have a paper map to take and to show you the fishing spots.

Charlie, the best side I find to fish is the dam wall between the pondage and Goulburn river. Try powerbait particularly the salmon egg type, also the local dough you can buy from the tackle store in town works great too.

Re: Eildon Pondage
I’ve fished there a few times, it’s very hit and miss in my opinion. But generally when it’s on you’ll catch quite a few, I would recommend giving pink tassies a go at dawn and as mentioned power bait can also be pretty effective. This time last year I caught a spiny cray on worms, so that’s something else on offer if the fishing’s a bit slow. It’s a lovely place to fish either way.
Good luck!

I saw a guy catch half a dozen trout on pipi along what they call Bourke street at the wall end of it a few years ago.
