Melton Reservoir revisited

I decided to fish Melton Res. today just before the cool change. My plan was to hone my soft plastic skills on some redfin, well I wasn't disappointed with reddie after reddie attacking my plastics. I knew there had to be bigger ones there because I've caught them before, anyway, my persistence paid off with a reddie well over 40cm, then the rain came and I had to bolt out of there as the dirt tracks end up like slippery dips

Good work mate, I reckon I'll be making the trip that way myself in the next few weeks.

I've noticed that most of the rubbish there is still the same stuff that was there 6 months ago. I think if the council went and cleaned it up it wouldn't be so bad. Would be nice if they did a bit of work on the track also as it's a bit rough

How did you manage to avoid the EPs?

They are hard to find, they really like it when it's windy, especially a SW and just before a cool change. I have caught most of my EP's from the same spot but under those conditions, they are there but just don't bite freely

Anyone knows if it is still accessible via Clark's Rd? Cheers
