Just wondering if anyone has fished belgrave lake recently?? Catch anything?? Im thinking of heading there tomorrow

Have caught a few small carp and eels not really worth fishing it but u never no u might catch a few

Bread is best for ther defently if you want to get a carp thers heaps in ther I've been trying ther with new fly recently but the bloody ducks every time go for the fly ...I've been told ther was movie that was just finished fishing ther for trout with repalas

Plenty of carp in belgrave lake, big ones too. I've had 1 or 2 take me for a run all the way to the other side of the lake even. I prefer using a float, set at an arm's length and not even a meter from the edge of the water. Bread and corn work well, never caught any on worms oddly.

No trout in the lake, the stream under though is a different storey

Try a black wooly bugger and let it sink to the bottom in front of the carp or do a very slow retrieve.

what's the point in catching carp, is it just for fun???
What do you do with them once you catch em, aren't you supposed to kill them as non native to Australia?
I thought they are stuffing up our rivers/fish etc????

It is illegal to put carp back in the water alive. Catching them and killing them will help the native fish and the fish we like to breed and be healthier. Plus they are a good sport fish.

Yes! They are good sport and can be found in waters which don't support other fish species that well. But I still kill them! Some people use them for cray bait (highly regarded from what I have heard), some use them as fertilizer and some people eat them with a bit of preparation.

yep fun to catch, wack them hard on the head then throw them into the bushes or bury them....burying is probably the best idea lol

its illegal to return them to the water dead too isnt it?
