Freshwater fishing spots near Mitcham

G'day Alan the Yarra river around Warrandyte would be the go for eels mate :thumbsup: Only about 15 minutes from Mitcham and I have caught plenty there while fishing for other species so I'm sure that if you targeted them you would clean up mate.

eel for fun or for the table?

I am asking because I know a place where you can snag monster eels but those maybe radio active :lolf: :lolf: that toxic :lolf: :lolf: glowing green under UV lights. :lolf: :lolf:

I learned about it while fishing for carp (for fun). An old man greeted me and told me that the eels in the water are big but I have to get them at night or leave a bait overnight. Well, I tried and when I snagged one on 60 lb line, 6/0 hook, I was unable to haul it out of the water. It was the biggest eel I have ever seen. I did not see how long it was but I had a glimpse of it when it broke surface. The girt was as big as a 1.25L coke bottle, could be more. :shocker: Man, you should have seen me ran away from the edge of the water. I thought it was a snake or a monster. I cut it off and I walked away with my balls right up on my neck. :shocker: Never again I will try to snag those things from that place.
