Re: Tooradin
Was just taking in the view and something broke the surface and it caught my eye to the right. I thought it was strange...then a seal bobbed up and weaves in and out of my lines. Grrrrrrrrr....

Re: Tooradin
Your app got the tide wrong? Get a different app, tides are not unpredictable like the weather. Unless the moon changes direction without warning, it's fairly easy to anticipate when the tides change.mpharris66 wrote:Tide wasn’t behaving, App said it was suppose to be coming in and it was still emptying! Nothing happening so will try next weekend.

Re: Tooradin
"Tides" in effect can be unpredictable if you factor in wind and sudden atmospheric pressure drops / rises over the bays.

Re: Tooradin
You have to factor in the amount of recent rainfall in the catchment that would be negating the incoming ‘tide’. Even without significant rain the exact point a tide changes at a certain point of a river estuary is highly variable. Thus the old adage ‘fish an hour either side’.

Take Jane with you
She knows all about barametric pressure, phases of the moon, tide variants, rainfall, wind
And if you don't catch a fish, there's always buns to be had.
Cheers Gra

Re: Tooradin
Nearest point of reference is Tooradin Pier, I’ll need to do a bit of recalibration. Thanks for the tips.
