Hi guys,
Last night my friend and I decided to give the reds another go in the attempt to try and land a nice landbased snapper.
As you guys know, I got a 55cm one a couple of weeks ago but have been itching to get a bigger model!
We discussed where to go and decided on a spot and arrived at our destination at around 8 pm.
The wind was a nice SSW.
We used 3 rods between the 2 of us with fresh pillies and sauries as our bait of choice.
Once all 3 baits were out we waited and it didn’t take long till we got a hook up. Turns out it was a massive banjo.
Then next one of the rods loads up and the line starts to run. A nice gummy the end result. Not long after the other reel starts to scream and in comes a nice 71 Cm snapper.
In the end we ended up with 3 snappers. 43 Cm, 54 Cm and the biggest one measuring 71cm and 2 nice gummies. We also got a couple of big Pjs which we let go.
All snappers were caught using double 5/0 gamagastu hooks rigged up with a whole pilchard.
Jase, I feel like I have the cure now and hope you can get the cure sometime soon as well!
Cheers,
LX

Thanks guys!!!
Yea Rb I feel much more relaxed now and definitely cured mate
E.welch do you have much experience fishing from the rocks down there? If so, I’d give it a crack otherwise maybe safer to give it a go from the pier.
