drew 2 Memorial. Cod Trip 2020
Hi everyone,
As the regular members of both trips knew, Drew quietly battled cancer for the last cpl of yrs. He wanted it kept from the forum and didn't want any fuss, though he was unable to attend the last few trips due to treatment. He was the founding member of these trips and the one who got them in place and happening, so I think he should be remembered.
We stayed in contact before and after every trip, until just after our 2018 trip, when we could no longer get into contact with him, we feared the worst but didn't want to accept it.
Then unfortunately in July 2019 we found out that drew had passed away sometime after our 2018 trip.
For this reason our 2020 Cod Trip will now be a memorial to drew, anyone that has been to any of the trips where he was involved would know he was a great bloke and well liked by everyone. He helped anyone who needed it and went out of his way to be a listening ear. He went out of his way to help others and never expected nor accepted anything in return.
He was just a down right great bloke and will be missed deeply.
The dates for this yrs trip are Fri 13th to Sun 15th of March this will be our 8th trip.
Location will be in the same vicinity as previous yrs (Yielima/Barmah National Park), exact location is never really decided until we are there and select a campsite.
Everyone is welcome along, but please remember there are no facilities at all. It's bush camping.
Andy R.i.P mate, you'll be missed on every trip from now on

Re: drew 2 Memorial. Cod Trip 2020
A little Drew story.
So i pull into the camp one year. Some of the lads were sitting around drinking afternoon tea. I pull up in the middle of them all (as you do) and Drew wonders over. Can in hand and a smoke hanging from the corner of his mouth.
Drew: "Gday Murlz. Good to see ya"
Me: "Gday Drew. Hows tricks?
Drew: " can you smell petrol?"
By now we are standing at the back of my boat.
HOLY ****.
I had left the top of the fuel tank and there is about a litre of premium. sloshing around in the back of the boat.
Drew. As calm as ****. "Prolly shouldn't be smoking here" and wonders of laughing his head of.
A genuine top bloke who would do ANYTHING for a mate.
