Glorious Autumn Weather, so time to fish
Well with some awesome Autumn weather forecast for Today and Friday, fishing seems to be the thing to do. So a mate and I toddled on down to the pipeline after a gentlemanly 7am start. Flat calm out over the bar and a 25 min run down to the 26mtr rocks. Pulled up and set up to drift from the north to the south over the rough bottom. Well we went west and missed. No bites. Ok try again. Second go we had it right and as soon as we crossed over the hard bottom, down went both rods. Lost mine but my mate managed a 38cm pinky. We were still drifting slowly across the hard bottom so threw the gear back down. Instantly my mates on and is getting quite a fight. Up comes a double header one at about 45cm and one at 60cm. Just had them in the landing net and my rod doubles over. The fish was putting up a good fight but I was winning. Up comes a 60cm snapper. Back over again and I am on as soon as it hits the bottom, couple of minutes and number two is in the esky. Ok so one more each to make our 3 each over 40cm. Bait up drop them down, waiting.... waiting , check we are still on the hard bottom. Just about to pour a coffee and bang both rods double over. Bit of huffing and puffing and trying to both get the net at the same time while holding a fish. Sorted it out and we have our bag. You cant beat that 25 minutes total on the spot.
After that we went into the beach to try for some gummies or flatties but no joy so an early day home.
We think we might give it another crack tomorrow.

There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.

Re: Glorious Autumn Weather, so time to fish
We ended up with 7 yesterday(Friday) between 3 of us. Bit slow but still a feed.
Couldn't find a gummy anywhere. Top day out there though. Flat calm and warm. One of the guys ended up getting spiked by a Bulleye Gurnard. That ruined his day. Still has a swollen hand today. Managed to get spiked in 4 fingers, so 4 doses of venom.
