What about the rights of the people who don't want to catch this virus?
Mike, how is your situation going with (I think it was) with your Daughter and Son in-law? A few of us have gone through similar (my situation had a good outcome) and it's not a nice feeling. Puts everything into perspective of what is really important.

Regards, Bill
Our daughter returned a negative and after a few days off, is back working in the hospitals and nursing homes. Son in-law is still out of work till they restart the gyms, same for my son in Melbourne
There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.

Andrews has just said no changes until.the 11th .

My gut feeling is he could possibly still enforce a fair bit of restrictions due to the latest outbreak at the meat factory and now possibly the nursing home tgat is linked to the same cluster.

But let's wait and see only a few more days I suppose.

We have a democratically elected Government in this state. Their job is to govern as they see fit and then face the electorate again. Till then those of us that didn't vote for them have to suck it up.

We are just over one month since this started.

Sure I feel for those in self employed and in small business. But really, we are so far ahead of other countries in this so far. All those countries that didn't lock down are still in the same boat financially.

We are in this for just over a month , , , ,

The Austerity measures during WWII lasted for years and years

We haven't been tested like our predecessors, and look how some of us act :(

Glad to hear about the negative result for your Daughter :tu:

The rest is unfortunate, sorry to hear that

Cheers, Bill

I feel like the current population would fall in a shrieking heap if some of the deprivations suffered by previous generations were imposed on them. And funnily enough it isn’t the effete hipsters and soy boys doing the whinging.

You know one thing i learnt 40 odd years ago, while i was a commercial fisherman. When things get tough and you just wish you could stop and go home to a nice warm house and a comfy bed. You can't, You have to hunch the shoulders, suck it up and just keep pushing through. Every time you have a set back you just take a deep breath and start again. You don't go home with a load of fish unless you keep fishing till you have a load.
This is no different, if we quit before it is over we will be defeated.

All that applies to surfing for example.....something the Vic govt flipped on and allows, same with kayaking. And of course all that doesn't seem to have had any negative outcomes in other states either, where fishing and hunting is allowed. Just requires you practice physical distancing and stay reasonably local.
We've already been through this, and you were proven statistically wrong. It's been a couple of days, and being the Trump fan that you are i'm assuming you're adhering to his philosphy that anything that isn't part of this exact news cycle didn't happen.

So one more time.

What piece of evidence could I present to you that would change your mind?

Still the Trump Derangement Syndrome Dougie....who cares about Trump? Given the fairly serious resources allocated to contact tracing, it should be reasonably easy to show infections that are traced back to a fisherman on a river by himself......of course that's assuming these infections exist in that scenario.
