Navionics has finally released an update based on the 3 years of survey work we did.
Looks good. Not sure how you update your cards.

There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.

I like the point of the survey work that you guys did. You learn more and more about the hidden gems of the Forum members on here, their talents, their pass-times, what makes them tick
I'm equally impressed with who ever did the "colouring in" , , , , they have kept within the lines perfectly. Their Art Teacher would be proud.
As you can see, my Art Teacher has still some ways to go
Cheers, Bugs

Only issue is I don't have any secret spots now.

Re: Navionics chart update Gippsland Lakes
i wouldnt worry about it too much, you will suprised by how many actually know how to read depth charts and sounders properly.
let alone people who will update charts regularly.
speaking of which i have never updated my navionics chart after buying it, i registered it a year ago and found that i cannot update it for free, have to pay for it.
whats the go here, do you know anything about it?

Yeah just checked my card from my GPS, they want a fee off approx $200 to update. I won't be worrying about it. My whole GPS and card only cost me $400 about 6 years ago. I am not sure if you use the APP if it gets updated

Yep. Same thing for me.
I wonder if it's worth updating or just creating your own using the options now available on the new sounder like genesis live.

Re: Navionics chart update Gippsland Lakes
What I didn't point out was that it includes all the inlets from Shallow inlet to Mallacoota. We did all them as well. Bit disappointed they didn't update Anderson's Inlet as we provided them with the data.
I drove a jetski with very fancy GPS system , sounder and a PC in lines 50mtrs apart over all those lakes. It became boring as bat sh%%$t after a while.I just kept thinking about I was getting paid pretty good money to ride a jetski and explore areas I hadn't been.

Re: Navionics chart update Gippsland Lakes
I've been having that exact same issue Re-tyred in trying to update an older set of Navionics charts. I have a Navionics card dated back to 2015 for my GPS unit on boat. I also have Navionics app on my phone which is about $25 a year subscription and includes updates to this each time. The phone app is so much more detailed then my GPS unit. Got on website last night to try and update SD Card and said same as you in that it will be $200 to update expired and older card. Also, yearly cost.
I'm just going to get by with the older GPS unit and use the phone app as well when I need the more detailed contours to hone in on spots.
