Mallacoota advice
Heading up there Boxing Day
One of the very few estuary systems I’ve fished in Vic. Should be fun going to a new place. My friend is taking his 5.8 carribean up, so we will hopefully fish offshore as much as possible targeting whatever suits on the day, from flathead and gummies to kings if they are around as well as diving around Gabo island for Abs and Crays. Like I said, completely new area for me, so if anyone has experience down that way, I’d appreciate any info.
I have been to the ramp/wall a few times and although I’ve seen some nasty videos of the bar there, it’s been pretty pleasant and looked easy to pass the times I had seen it. Is it pretty consistent or does it change frequently?
Also for the estuary, we will probably chase some duskys or maybe even whiting at some stage, especially if conditions don’t allow us offshore, does it fish fairly similar to other east Gippsland estuaries?

Re: Mallacoota advice
Plenty of fish (sometimes) up here.
I have to go down to Melbourne just after Xmas for a day or two but shoot me a pm when your here and I'll see what I can arrange for you.
Some of the best advice I can give you, specially over holiday periods, is to fish away from where the crowds are and fish right under your feet.
