Re: Squid squid squid Blairgowrie-Portsea
Was a good contest with the freams 2000 6lb and the Solpara rod. First decent fight of the rod and reel. Very happy with the result.purple5ive wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2019 10:04 pmanyone game enough to fish in this weather should be rewarded, and looks like you guys certainly were.
good effort. at that size the fighting capabilities of squid are great.
cheers

Great show there Seb , , , , on catching the squid but more so, in showing us other heater loving, Snuggy wearing, blokes up , , , , that reminds me, my fluffy slippers need repairing .Seb85 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2019 8:51 pmYes it was cold,
Yes it was super windy,
Yes it was raining hard,
Yes they were biting.
All needed was appropriate clothing (5 layers, lol) and a fishing buddy that is as keen to bear the weather.
Majorcraft Solpara EL egi rod
Daiwa Freams LT 2000
Daiwa Jbraidx8 6lb
Yamashita Live squid jig 3.0
Blairgowrie and Portsea
PS my shoe size is 42EU so that squid is over a foot long. Potentially there's gold in that boat at the end of the rainbow.
The 190 gram Freams LT 2000 fits perfectly with the Solpara rod, much better and well balanced compared to 235 gram Stradic FK 2500.
But credit to you, my hands freeze up at anything below 25 degrees. Mind you, the squid are about this time of year, so make hay when the , , , , hold on , , , , no , , , , make Semolina Crumbed Squid when the Sun shines.
And you young Matari, good on you for showing Seb how it's really done (your squid is bigger  ) but don't tell Seb.
Great show and well done to both of you :a_goodjob:
Cheers, Bugs
