Hook up caught on camera..
Meander River still running a little high & very cold.
Arrived at the river at 11:30 am today to find it was still running higher than I would have liked but thought it was still worth hopping in for a spin session. Once in it I soon realised how cold the water was as my feet and legs felt it within the first couple of minutes. I thought I'd start off with a small Mepps #00 copper black fury mainly because the water was fairly clear. If that didn't work on the trout then I'd change to a brighter coloured spinner. It took close on an hour before I had my first follow from a solid brown which took the spinner when it was about 10 feet from me. It was a solid 1.3 kg fish and in good condition, quick photo & it was back in the river.. Thirty minutes later I had my second brown in the net and that was the last sign of a trout it's release. I was lucky enough to catch the hook up on my camera that I had set up on the river bank with the timer on, it caught the cast, retrieve and the hook up. I fished on for another hour without any signs of a trout so called it a day.. The weather was absolutely beautiful too, a great day to be in the water for sure..
cheers
Adrian

Nice work Adrian.
That first trout you caught is a beauty and looks like it was in great condition.

Great Pictures and report as always Adrian.
Cold feet are the worst when fishing - Might be time to invest in a pair of Heated Socks - Have a look on Ebay

What a fabulous looking piece of water.... and you've landed two as well for your efforts.
If you keep posting these wonderful pics I will soon be converting to freshwater.

Re: Hook up caught on camera..
Thanks guys, the rivers are running so cold at the moment and they are slowing dropping in level which is good to see.. The river was running higher than Id have liked as well and it was pushing pretty hard as well Gra... I had to bypass several areas too because they were running to hard and not safe for wading.. A lot of snow water coming down & to make it worse it snowed again last night.. I feel I was lucky to catch two trout on the day..
cheers
