Brand new rrp is around $170, feel plastic-y but not a bad reel. Wont use it to target 100cm cod, but I'd say it'll do for yellowbelly, bass and smaller cod.

If your thinking giving it away give it a try first. No harm

I seen them and seem a bit light and plastic bit haven't tested the drag but for $55 can't do no harm.in trying

I'd say braid.

Start with full brake and heavy lure. There's also rubber weight for practicing your cast. Best is to visit a tackle shop with your reel and rod, ask for the best match rubber weight.
Then a bucket and an empty park are all you need to practice... and have some fun!

Baitcast is designed for accuracy, not distance.

Good advice Seb

When I was practising to cast an ABU 7000, I would go to a quite Jetty , , , , or an Oval.
But yes, a great idea.

I'm just not sure an empty park is going to be big enough though

Braid Easier to cast
Mono Easier to untangle

Probably a 8kg range mono be good to practice with.

If you change from braid to mono or video verser you have to adjust side break.
Mite have to do this depending on the weight your casting also
