Miss My Redfin Feed

Post by Master Baiter » Fri Mar 04, 2022 11:30 am

Just wondering what the thoughts our of other Fisher persons regurding all the Cod and Yellow Perch being stocked in Dam's, which is good. I along with others have noticed Nillhacootie now has only Carp,Cod and Yellow Perch. Long gone are the Trout, Silver Perch, Blackfish and now rhe Redfin. Lake Eildon the same is happening the Redfin spots I have often caught fish are now vanishing. Catching Cod on light 6lb mono line with a number six hook and a 2500 reel is now the norm, pretty easy most Cod are just fat and lazy. Just coax them in and about 4 or 5 mts from shore they will pull line off a lightly set drag and this happens 4 or 5 times and they come to shore where you need fishing gloves and a lip grip.
I have only ever lost one and that was because the hook bent.

Always take a good look at what you are about to eat. It’s not so important to know what it is .but it’s critical to know what it was.

I think its good that the dams are getting stocked as well. this year there's a new fishery opening in Shepperton. its for natives like cod and yellow belly etc..
will most likely fish there.

Sound's good. Not everyone can travel any distance to have a fish.
