We're going to bonnie doon...24 - 26 October
It has been discussed at the last few meet's about doing a trip to lake eildon,so i thought i'd throw it up on here for discussion.
It would be a lot easier to stay at a caravan park,we would have to book & pay to camp in fraser too.
Caravan park gives more options for those that might not like roughing it or want to bring the family along.I've stayed at both end's (eildon & 'doon) and my preference would be the 'doon end,no need to pull boats out at night (we camped in unpowered sites right on the shore) & there's a ramp there in the park if you want to.Land based access is pretty good around there.Pub close by.
Eildon end is right on the pondage & has the river close by,so probably offers better landbased fishing, lake isn't that far away with good ramps.Pub close by.
When-mid to late october/early november, daylight saving's has started & hopefully it has warmed up a bit.

Sounds like a good idea...the lakes still fishing tremendous and will just fish better and better during the spring
Agree the doon caravan park is the best option esp if you can camp next to your boat.

It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

If only I could fish more

Re: Trip to Lake Eildon
Day trip for me...even if we are at a caravan park...depending on whats happening at the time. Your a legend Drew. Remember, must be a caravan park that allows pets...don't want to exclude any members do we?
cheers
Jim
Edit. Stupid to go for a day...if I'm cashed up I will stay over.
