In that photo it's actually a garden worm/tiger worm cocktail. I use mainly garden worms.

I was led to believe redfin were like carp captures and not allowed to be returned to the water ? seeing they are an introduced species...DR.SPESH wrote:Caught 1 that went 41. As always they all go back.Lightningx wrote:Nice fish mate

Re: Don Lake - Healesville today
They are in NSW, here releasing them is discouraged but not illegal. Somewhere like Don Lake it probably doesn't make much difference though.hornet wrote:I was led to believe redfin were like carp captures and not allowed to be returned to the water ? seeing they are an introduced species...DR.SPESH wrote:Caught 1 that went 41. Re: Don Lake - Healesville today
41cm is a great reddy, well done. I spent a few hours at Don lake last week with worms but we couldn't catch anything in a couple of hours. 4 rods out, 3 on a running sinker and 1 on a float about a foot off the bottom. We were about half way down the lake on the road side. Do you know if they will be releasing trout there for this school holiday? I smashed a few on tassie Devils there earlier this year.

Yeah that sounds like the spot I fished yesterday. Can't believe you didn't catch anything? How far out were you casting? I find shorter casts bring the best results there, no need to land your bait in the middle. I'm not doing or using anything fancy? Kmart rod, crap line, I don't spend money on fishing anymore really.skronkman wrote:41cm is a great reddy, well done.
