Trouble uploading pics
Hey site admins,
I'm trying to put up a report {from my mobile) with some photos via the attachment tool, but I'm getting random results in doing so. Inconsistent upload success where I get advised that the photo exceeds the 5MiB size limit, yet all photos are well below.
Have tried closing the page, reopening, restarting a new topic and retrying the attachments - sometimes they upload, sometimes they don't and give the 5MiB limit message. Have even put the photos through a compressor app to reduce the size and keep getting the same inconsistent success.
Are there any known issues or is it likely with the user?
Cheers, Chris

Re: Trouble uploading pics
Upload speed from mobiles can cause problems , easier to just email it to yourself and reduce it that way. Re-save the new pic.

Re: Trouble uploading pics
As mentioned, try re-sizing the images so they are web-friendly. (ie: smaller in size)

Re: Trouble uploading pics
Thanks all, got them up for my recent Yarra trout report. Had to reduce them twice to be under 1mb each via a phone app. Issue bypassed.

Re: Trouble uploading pics
Hi to all members,
I have just spent the good part of a whole day resizing all of the uploaded images on the forum.
We were very close to exceeding our web hosting Disk Usage limit!
I have implemented a new attachment setting where images and photos must now be smaller than 1MB in file size before being uploaded.
This is still quite large so there should be no problem uploading your photos and images as long as you resize your files first.
There are plenty of simple tools like phone apps and software online that enable quick image resizing.
This is necessary to keep the forum running smoothly and keep running costs to a minimum.
Cheers
Jon
