Pier fishing off ST Kilda Pier - 100cm/10.4kg big Mullo 11/10/18
Hey guys, caught this big beauty this morning off St Kilda Pier on a Shimano catana 2-4kg rod, 8lb braid with a 10lb mono leader and a zman grub curly tail motor oil soft plastic. Just under 100cm long and weighs 10.4 kg. This is my first Big Mullo and what a PB!.. So stoked Honestly do not know how my rod and line lasted during the fight. I battled him for a good 20 mins then had to walk him all the way to shore coz couldn't lift him out of the water from the pier.. Crazy
Caught at 5:46am during high tides.

Wow that is genuinely amazing. Well done, a very very rare catch indeed, especially given the location.
Can't read the tape measure but it looks like it would be between 8-10 kilo? I'd consider it a big Mullo for VIC for sure, but they have been caught up to 30kg+ in the bays here.
Lol st.kilda pier is going to look like burke street now after this post

Good one. Must be lip hooked. I also caught 1 of 95cm from St kilda beach 2 years ago, 1/4 oz jig 1/0 hook, 10lb leader. You should be able to find the report here.
I got busted at least 2 x since then.
