Decided to go for a flick at lilydale lake this arvo, spent aprox 3.5hrs there.
Using a mix of power bait, worms and a variety of lures but didn't seem to get any bites. Was using sure catch Burley but it didn't seem to have any effect.
Could see some occasional surface disturbances closer in the middle of the lake.
Was around the lake wall and outlet but nothing was biting.
Maybe it's too cold this time of year, and not too sure if it was stocked anytime recently.
All the best

Not entirely sure but I remember reading that 1000 trout were released in there before the holidays. Pretty sure it was Lilydale lake.

Yeah I had a look at the VFA website and you are correct, not like it seemed to matter for me though

I used to fish there a lot when they released trout. Never had any luck. Emerald lake was much more productive for me. I have seen trout caught at Lilydale on power bait and worms but not on my rods.

Cold water in lake should not be the problem.
Worm or orange powerbait should work. Roach and eel take worm too.
Just bad luck. Keep trying.
