Many flathead and surprise salmon.
Got up early again this morning, trying to make the most of the good weather. I quickly launched the kayak at the beach and paddled out to 20ft of water, it wasn’t long before I bagged my first flathead for the day. Many more followed with almost all of them being over 30cm. After about 3 hours I had managed 13 flathead to keep, and released plenty more, most of which being a keepable size. Eventually the wind started to pick up so I decided to start paddling back, but as I was getting ready I noticed some arches on the sounder. Without hesitating I dropped my jig back down and was soon hooked up to an Australian salmon, followed by another one. The school didn’t hang around though so I didn’t manage any more. A great way to finish an amazing session.

Thanks mate, nothing wrong with a bit of flathead for dinner especially shallow fried in panko crumbs. But to be honest I probably prefer the salmon.
