Yay or nay?
Saw these. Good or too crazy and unnecessary?
Does it really need another eyelet on that jig head to attach the stinger hook?
Does the mussel lure look weird or might actually work?

Re: Yay or nay?
Stingers aren't my thing in plastics, not really worth the hassle in most scenarios imo. If ypu want to get a mussel lure look up outback breamer baits on insta and get the original that 3 years of r&d and testing went into rather than one of the copies that was thrown together in a short period of time. The paul malov recently won the vic bream classic at gippy lakes with a 13.74kg bag for 10 fish all caught on the original muss

Re: Yay or nay?
with the first pic you can tie a spinner on to it. what's with the mussel lure? it looks like something out of 5 minute crafts.

Re: Yay or nay?
It's a nay from me. Never had a problem hooking Whiting on TB worms without a stinger. Those jigheads are $4 each. As for the mussel, well, were getting closer to dead sticking. You can achieve the same results with half a mussel and a hook

Re: Yay or nay?
I dont know about the extra loop to fit a stinger - I have trolled squid strips on larger jigheads ( 28 - 40 gram 6/0s ) with stingers but just tie off to the std loop

Re: Yay or nay?
The mussel lure while looking pretty average has accounted for some big bream, and like Alex mentioned won the Vic bream tournament just last week.
Now the guys that won the tournament are masters at snag fishing and also bream fishing professionals.
For me personally it is not a lure I will buy, but it does have its place if fishing structure.
As for whiting jighead pictured.
I lost 5 kg in a row last week on turtlebacks because I couldn't set the hooks properly and the hooks were too big. 1/0 to be exact.
So this could be a good alternative. I was too stubborn to add a stinger and tried to perceiver with traditional styles.
I am however convinced to try some different methods and see if it works.
They're a video of Allan using those jigheads with good success on the kg.

Did you cut the worm down?Seniorfisho wrote: ↑Sat Apr 02, 2022 7:51 amIt's a nay from me. Never had a problem hooking Whiting on TB worms without a stinger. Those jigheads are $4 each. And at 4 bucks a pop I'd rather just fish bait lol.
Cheers

Re: Yay or nay?
No, I never cut the worm down, I found they basically hook themselves. Those stinger hooks are TT JIGHEADS, with a hole drilled underneath and a screw in eye, with 40lb braid tied to a stinger hook, I think they might be $4.50 eachpurple5ive wrote: ↑Sat Apr 02, 2022 9:05 amDid you cut the worm down?Seniorfisho wrote: ↑Sat Apr 02, 2022 7:51 amIt's a nay from me.
