Re: KGW Gippsland Lakes
No. Water is cleaning up now the rain has stopped.
There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.

Re: KGW Gippsland Lakes
Just to get back.on topic. If you want to catch kgw at the moment my advice would be to fish the shallow flats within 100 m of the red markers east of Raymond Island. Hard work and a few moves but hooked 16 today landed 13 on light gear including the 4 m trusty UK carp waggler rod n prawn.

Re: KGW Gippsland Lakes
I fished around the Barrier Landing and Fraser Is today and managed 2 KGW at 35 cm and lost a much larger one next to the boat. All caught on prawn. At last, finally, a couple of KGW! A few small salmon gave me false hopes but good gummy bait.

Re: KGW Gippsland Lakes
really appreciate the effort some people are going to find the KGW this year as it's been a bit of a mystery as to their whereabouts. these last posts give me hope to return for another day. Thanks

Re: KGW Gippsland Lakes
This may be a silly question but do Whiting eat shrimp

Re: KGW Gippsland Lakes
Short answer yes if it's local shrimp.
Please don't use anything from other areas that will introduce disease to our system.
Eg: supermarket prawns.
