Hi All,
I am new to fishing and am looking forward to going out to St Leonards for a fishing session. My question is, when is the best time to go? I have been going by the bite times according to tides and was wondering if very early morning or late at night would be best for this location??
I really would like to avoid the crowds if possible!
The only fishing I have done is at Sunday Island recently and we found that late night was best there although early morning, people caught fish as well.
Thanks in advance, have really got the bug and looking forward to catching my next feed!
Best time of day to avoid crowds but still good bite time?

Welcome cowgirl,
I fish almost only at night and usually catch something! Plus usually no crowd so my suggestion fish at night!
hope this helps

P.S. If you post up an intro people are usually much more willing to help

The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad

I was at St Leonards today, fishing from about 1:30PM-6:30PM. The pier was pretty crowded most of the time, lots of people especially from about 4-5. Things quietened down people wise at around 6, but as it got dark the squid fishers arrived and pretty soon it was crowded again.
I reckon it would be better early morning.

Yep I'm a night stalker, I lurk mainly at st leonards when I go, tides for me don't work, I've bagged on the incoming and outgoing, no set pattern down there ?
