Maybe on s#!tposting sites like reddit - not an issue here imo, its just behavioural traits of the posters.
Tons of people will read reports then not bother to comment or like (including myself) - at least people like lightning take the 5 seconds to acknowledge it with a comment. Imo thats a better contribution than the former and is a small driver to people wanting to post reports (as opposed to putting one up and no one comments - great motivation for whoever to do it again).
Classic bowl reports, off angle blurry photo and 1 line of text - would you rather nothing or happy at least having that?
We make communication adjustments in f2f social situations, just cos it's an internet forum, doesnt mean people shouldnt have wider awareness of the communities preferred communication standards. Off topic fb style convo in a thread with proper discussion needs to be recognised and pulled back on by the offending parties. Everything outside of this is fine imo.
(Except for quoting a massive report for a 3 word response)
