Re: Berwick Springs Lake(s) fishing
Hi. Just wanted to start a general fresh thread about fishing in Berwick Springs which is very close to home. I've invested many many hours there over the past few months with some limited results. Carp, eel, redfin and roach to date.

Re: Berwick Springs Lake(s) fishing
So this last week has been rubbish. Tried when atmospheric pressure was low and high, before and after rain and during different parts of the day. Various locations around the lake. Very minor bites not even worth mentioning really. The lake level was very low at the start and now is back to normal after Fridays rain. Been using good old corn for bait, and also some aged mozzarella just to use it up.

There's some huge Carp in that system, but hard to fish the main lake. The smaller shallow lakes are more productive I've found.

Sure. A lot of the time there is a heap of activity in most spots. Fish swirls, big splashes and fish jumping out. Sometimes you get a group of four or five carp at the surface sucking in surface scum. Although even in those times doesn't mean your getting bites! Have tried float and sinker. Got one guy that must have been 40cm or bigger. I'm going to give it a go this evening. Pressure shows only 1014 mbar and it's going to rain next few days. Will post how it goes.

Can't do much except try, I don't do much freshwater fishing but I've found it hit and miss for me.

I've experienced this plenty of times myself, especially on the Yarra. Sometimes it's more frustrating knowing they are there, hey?Instrotech wrote: ↑Tue May 03, 2022 3:42 pmSure. Get yourself a small, el cheapo paddle yak and fish the smaller lakes...there's heaps of fish in them and easier to hunt down.

Went out last few days for some small trips. Very minimal bites. Will post the map locations over the next few days.
